Davis Visits & Christmas Eve
We've made several visits to Davis recently to celebrate Kathy, Bob, and Gen's birthdays as well as the Christmas holiday. Lorelei is so lucky to have her family so close! Here are some of the pictures from our visits.

Lorelei and Aunt Kathy
Elly set a lovely table for Christmas Eve. We enjoyed a traditional Ukranian Holy Supper that started with washing our hands with coins for prosperity in the coming year. Next, the ancestors were called to the table, followed by grace. After grace we each made a short toast. This was followed by breaking bread (delicious, homemade bread) with everyone at the table. The bread was eaten with garlic (strength), salt (for salt of the earth), and honey (sweetness). In addition, we were annointed with honey for sweetness in the coming year. Per tradition, Steve got to annoint Lorelei! Holy Supper is meatless so we started with homemade pea soup and perogi followed by a main course of fish. We had such a lovely time!
Grandpa Bob fell asleep while rocking Lorelei to sleep. So sweet!
