New Year Resolutions
So in the great tradition of setting goals for the new year, I have made two for myself for 2009. The first, is that I am going to keep a list of all of the books I read this year. This will include the books I read for fun, work, book club, the young adult novels I read (to keep up with what my students are into), and the audio books I listen to in the car. The book goddess at my local bookstore has been keeping lists for years and says she gets a kick out of looking at her past lists and reflecting on the changes in her life and reading. I'll keep the list on the side bar of this blog and if something is particularly good I'll write a blog entry.
My second goal involves my collection of cookbooks. I have a great collection of cookbooks, but I still get stuck in the same old rut with dinners and baked goods, relying on the same recipes again and again. So my plan is that each month I'll focus on one cookbook, making at least one brand new recipe each week from that book. I'll post the recipe and comments here; then, at the end of the month, I'll review the cookbook itself. If you try the recipe, be sure to let me know!
