At some point, I got the crazy notion in my head that I should host Easter brunch at our house (my first true holiday hostessing event). So I invited both families and here are the results!

We started with Carrot-Orange soup, one of my favorites!

The rest of the spread: bread, cheeses, spinach salad, deviled eggs (from Elly), citrus chicken kebabs, and Mediterranean lamb kebabs. Everything was amazingly delicious! My mom contributed two different homemade pies--a fresh strawberry pie and a Soprano Pie (ricotta and pineapple).

My parents enjoying the festivities.

All eyes on Lorelei! Elly, Bob, Ray, Gen, and Kathy give Lorelei their undivided attention.

After eating her own meal, Lorelei comes over to Mom and Gramma for seconds.

I hid plastic eggs for Lorelei around the house, not sure how she'd do with the concept. After I prompted her to find the first "hidden" egg, she was completely enchanted with the game.

Look! I found another one!!

The Easter Bunnies visited... Grandma Elly gave Lorelei a darling plush chicken puppet .

Gramma brought Lorelei her very own backpack to tote her treasures (including a new book) around.

I belatedly realized that I did not have a picture of Lorelei fully dressed in her Easter outfit during any of the earlier picture taking. This ridiculously cute hat was lots of fun to wear around. She still asks to wear her bunny sweater (or shirt or socks) on a regular basis.
