For many years, our snow addiction has been supported by our good friends Bill and Nancy--who welcome us to their cabin. Snow trips are certainly more challenging with Lorelei, but still lots of fun. Over President's Day weekend we went up to the cabin and had such a fun time. Steve was a good sport--letting me ski all day both days (this was coming on the heels of his Canadian sno-cat adventure). It was so awesome to have two full ski days--lots of runs, some lower mountain fun, and the best company (except of course we missed our Nancy!).
Before leaving on the snow trip I suddenly realized that the last time we had gone to the snow Lorelei had been crawling. Now she was walking and needed boots! Oh drat, I'd have to go shopping for her. She was clearly pleased with the results and squealed"Boots!" when she opened up the box. Yes, my one year old knows the difference between shoes and boots and shrieks with delight upon the sight of new shoes. I'm in such big trouble.

| Testing out the new boots (and hat). I couldn't get her to stand still---she loved tromping around in them. |
 |
| At the cabin Lorelei made some friends with the "puppies". Actually, at first she called little Kahlua, "kitty", since animals are still size specific. She loves animals and really enjoyed gently petting the puppies and attempting to throw the ball for Missy. Lorelei always had a friend beneath her high chair (or nose on the high chair) during meal times. |

"Here puppy, I'll share a miniscule morsel of my cracker with you."
UPDATE: Steve informed me that this wasn't even a crumb of cracker she was offering the dog, but a piece of lint she picked up off the floor. Lorelei does not like to share her snacks. |
 |
| Here's Lorelei out playing in the snow. Err. Um. Where's the snow? |
 |
Hanging out with Daddy.
It was so warm that they didn't even need jackets.
(To be fair, this is down the hill in Murphy's. There was some snow at the cabin,
but not enough for the sled run we envisioned). |

| Lorelei was given the sweetest tea set--the pot sings songs and makes realistic pouring noises. Lorelei was absoluetly enchanted. Here she is having her first tea with Natalie. |
 |
| So happy! She dances--waving her arms and bouncing--when she makes the teapot sing. |
 |
| At home, having tea with Piggy. |
 |
Such a good hostess, sharing her treats. (As long as they are plastic and not an edible snack :) ).
Steve and I have tea at least once a day. |
