And She's Off!
After the incredibly exciting Christmas Eve steps, Lorelei went back to tenaciously gripping our fingers and insisting on holding on to one of us with both hands. It took a couple of more weeks until she gained enough confidence to really take off. Steve happened to be be out of town for a week, leaving behind a baby who crawled and cruised to come home to a toddler who, well, toddled around. Lorelei is so much more grown up (and taller!). These videos are from her adventures at the park during those first transition days.
I love that she giggles when she topples over before getting right back up--that moment highlights her general mood--"This is fun; let's keep going!"
The word of the month is "thank you"! It is so sweet to hear her utter this phrase whether she is happily accepting cheese and crackers from you or she is trying to hand you something she doesn't want to hold any more. The other word of the month is "no", but she still sounds pretty sweet when she says it.
